Snail slime is a substance produced by snails, long used in medicine and cosmetics for its moisturizing and soothing properties. The type used in cosmetics is the slime from the Helix Aspersa variety, the most prized species in the Mediterranean area.

Snail slime is employed for its benefits to hair and skin and its powerful antioxidant properties, guaranteed by the high concentration of Vitamin E, which serves as the main defence against the damaging effects of free radicals and cellular aging. More and more cosmetics contain this substance, with manufacturers advertising its anti-aging and skin-tightening effects. Valuable components like collagen and elastin help regenerate the epidermis, making it more elastic, soft, and hydrated. Furthermore, recent studies have confirmed its regulatory action: snail slime can normalize sebum production, one of the main causes of skin blemishes such as pimples and blackheads.
